We have a stacked Maytag Washer/Dryer combination Model #MLG2000AW Natural Gas that is not drying the clothes.
I have disconnected the vent to eliminate the possibility of blockage; there was some lint but not much.
Dryer will start and fire for approximately 4 minutes. The flame then goes out and will try to relight. The igniter glows and solenoid clicks but it will not light.
I suspect 1 or both of the solenoid valve coils could be bad, but don't know how to verify which one it is.
Any ideas on how to find out which one is bad?
TIA,
Steve Peskar

There are a number of causes for this:
My first guess is that lint is packed around the thermostat sensor. Why? because the burner would shut off from high heat and the lint will maintain it's temperature for a while.
Other causes include: Poor ejection air flow. The bearings on the ejection fan can be dirty. See how easy it spins by hand.
Some systems use a thermocouple tube to sense the main burner flame.
I've had to replace the burner tube once because the heat would deform the cobra like thing on the burner that redirected the heat to the TC. This was a very hard problem to find. Considering the dryer is now 45 years old. The lint filter could stand rebuilding.
